Get to know what I play on a day to day basis.
Want to know what's in my golf bag? I'd love to share all the things I use to try and give myself the best chance at winning on any given day on the course. Heads up – every club is Titleist and I'm not ashamed of it! I've been a Titleist fan for over 10 years now and haven't considered switching. #TeamTitleist
Let's start with the club everybody loves – the driver. I am currently using the Titleist 917D3 Driver 10.5 degree loft with a 60g Diamana Tour Spec stiff flex shaft. I absolutely love this club. After switching from the TaylorMade SLDR S about 2 months ago, I noticed an immediate bump in my accuracy off the tee without the sacrifice of any distance. Also, because the driver is about 1 inch shorter than the TaylorMade, I feel like I have more control over the entire swing. I prefer the smaller head D3 because I feel like I have more control over where I can hit the ball on the face.
This is probably my favorite club in the bag. Dependable and feels so good when you hit it right. I've got the Titleist 917F3 3-wood 15 degree loft with a 84g Fujikura Speeder 2.0 tour spec stiff flex shaft. I went with the heavy shaft because it gives me more sense of control when I need to shape a drive. I love the feel when this is hit well, and if I catch it good it is easy to hit it 270-280 off the tee.
I also carry a Titleist 816H1 Hyrbid with a 84g Fujikura Speeder tour spec stuff flex shaft. This club is handy for getting out of thick rough, driving off the tee or hitting an approach on par 5s. I opted for this instead of the 3-iron because of its versatility on the course.
I'm hitting the Titleist 716 AP2s (4-PW) and absolutely love them. I have Project X LZ 6.0g/120 stiff flex shafts in them and love the buttery-smooth feel when hitting them. My distance with them is strong, and even the mishits aren't shabby. I typically hit 7-iron anywhere between 170-180 depending on the hole and conditions.
I have the Titleist Vokey SM6 52, 56 and 60 degree wedges. I switched over from Cleveland to the SM5s a couple of years ago and have not looked back. The 56 is my favorite wedge as I typically use it for any shots between 40-90 yards. I use the 60 around the greens and in the sand, and the 52 acts as a good gap wedge.
I've got a Scotty Cameron Select Newport 2.0 and have been using it for 4-5 years now. I changed grips to the latest Scotty grip 2 years ago and have enjoyed putting with it.
I use the Titleist Pro-V1x exclusively. The Pro-V1 just spins way too much for my swing, so I prefer the feel and performance of the X.
